I can walk here but usually don't go out for breakfast so I haven't tried Golden Basket until today. We came around 10am and it was dead, but it's a Monday. Out server was terrible, an older woman who seemed angry and miserable with life. She never checked on us and basically threw out check on the table without asking if needed anything. She almost seemed pissed because we didn't want coffee, umm sorry?! However the food was pretty good for a diner and the lady working the register was exceptionally friendly.

I really really liked it. Go there expecting good, cheap diner food and you'll be pleased. Not sure if the dinner is good, we had breakfast and salads. But they do have pasta and heavier items. The service was outstanding. Clearly they have a lot of regulars. Our waitress was bringing coffee out as people were taking off their coats and calling people by their names. They fawned all over my daughter so you can see how you'd get hooked. The food was very good. The waitresses helped me order and recommended the potatoes and she was right! The Italian dressing was homemade and great. It isn't a 5 star $$$$ joint. But it is for SURE a 5 star $ joint.

Went in for lunch on July 5th, 2014. Won't be going back. Food must have sat back there because even though it wasn't busy, the fries and reuben were both cold. Waitress didn't come back to check on us until I was done eating what I could. Also, the Ketchup on the table seemed to have been refilled, tasted spoiled and the Heinz label had been removed. First and last time eating there.

A better breakfast special cannot be found. For $5 out the door (including tip) go with the early riser. Two eggs, potatoes, a choice of meat, and toast. The food is good and the staff is attentive and friendly. The service is fast. You're not going to find artisan dishes here - you're going to get a solid basic breakfast at an unbeatable price.

I really like this place. Mainly for the employees/owner. Their food is decent--at least breakfast food, which is what I always get. The employers are just so darn friendly. They're kind and patient with my 6yo, and service is always offered with smiles. One morning my husband and I had forgotten our wallets at home. The owner just waved at us and said, "it's fine. Pay us next time." The service & fast food keep us coming back.

Great family owned restaurant. All of the food is home made, tastes great and served in large portions. Also reasonably priced. I also have become a regular here

Awesome service and very good food to. Nothing fancy just good Greek American food. Parking was tight. I would re-visit this place!

This is a 4 star diner. Refilled ketchup is a negative. Wish they wouldn't do that. Tons of breakfast options including corn beef hash. Low prices make it taste better. $4.99 saginaki is very good taste and price. My husband usually gets the hot turkey dinner or hot turkey sandwich. Pretty typical diner fare. Nice in the evening with sun set through the windows.

I'm a big fan of greasy spoons dinners, as long as the food is actually tasty and not just greasy. The Golden Basket was simply not a place that I enjoyed. Eating here reminded me of eating in a dorm cafeteria, which was not a pleasant memory. The food felt like it was served out of chafing dishes and it hit my gut the same way. The decor looked like a Denny's that hadn't been updated since the Nixon Administration. Not very pleasant overall. The service was at least friendly and the prices were cheap. That's pretty much the only plus.

It's just your normal family diner, there's nothing remarkable about it. But the service is friendly, and the food is decent, and when you're roaming about and everywhere else is packed, you should give this place a whirl. It's just reliable food at reasonable prices.

A good, classic breakfast at a really great price!! How can you beat 2 eggs, choice of meat, potatoes, and toast for $3.99?! (Just make sure you order before 11:00am) And it's served with a smile ~ really friendly servers and attentive on the coffee refills...wow, great job! The eggs were done perfectly and the ham I ordered was also flavorful and slightly smoked. Potatoes nicely done, crispy just a bit, and toast a golden brown. This was my 1st visit, but probably not my last.

Driving home the morning after a night of having a little too much fun we found this place tucked in amongst a strip of stores while heading up Woodward Ave. Walked right in without a wait on a Sunday morning. We were greeted several times by many happy people. Coffee was deece considering the diner feel of the place. I had the southern omelet which is super good, especially after a long night of shenanigans. Was expecting super greasy spoon type food, but not so. The rest of the menu looks like it has tons of choices. Will be back for sure.

We eat there frequently. Food is good and very reasonably priced. The Grape Leaves and Geeek Salad are the best around.

Really solid diner food. Kid friendly for sure with a pleasant attentive wait staff. We had omelets and pancakes and everything was good, fresh and hot. They serve a good cup of coffee as well. Given that we could walk right in and sit down on a Sunday morning, I have no doubt that we will be back.

This is just straight up diner food offered with solid service and smiles around. We were sat immediately on a Saturday morning and had coffee in hand within minutes. The food was standard stick to your ribs diner grub and it hit the spot. What I loved was that all the wait staff that was there seemed to ask us how we were and if they could warm up our coffee or get us anything...very courteous service here.

Place to go when you need reasonbly priced food; however they need to kick their flavors and quality up a notch. Canned veggies and bland food are great for the old crowd, but it's not enough to make me keep coming consistently. Soups, omlettes and seafood salad good.

How can you go wrong? Right on Woodward, terrific breakfast (can't really mess that up too bad), good service, quick food, decent prices. The interior isn't anything special but I have seen so much worse. Typically quite a few "blue hair's" most of the time but not the creepy type. Great place for my family for weekend breakfast. (Haven't had anything else.....don't really know why someone would pass up on Gyro omelet and pancakes!

Potato's were astounding. Great eggs. Not your regular cony diner. Prices a tad higher than a normal cony but well work ti.

Good, quality family restaurant. I've been here dozens of times with my family. It's a go-to spot when I want to meet my sister and nephew for lunch as it's inbetween both of us. The food is consistent, the menu is huge and the service is always so friendly and accomodating. The chicken parmesan is actually really good! The chicken is just grilled, not breaded, and the meat sauce is fantastic! Tastes homemade. The omelettes are HUGE and they have some really interesting ones, outside of regular coney fare. Great place for families - my nephew is a busy-body and they're nice and expedient with the food. They always make a point to talk to my nephew, like he's a person, because he is, he's just only 2.5 years old. :) So when you get bored with your regular lunch or breakfast spot, check out the GB!

A solid, inexpensive choice for a quick Sunday breakfast or brunch. No frills, they seat you immediately and hot food comes fast. Great omelets. Yummy french toast. Decent coffee. Always a good choice.

This is your basic family diner type place. We've stopped in a couple of times for breakfast, and it works OK for that. You'll get your big ol' platter of basic heart-attack-on-a-plate breakfast fare...so if you're jones-ing for something like a big Western omelet, washed down with several cups of coffee, you'll get it here. Dinner menu looked like your bland-and-basic senior-friendly fare--or food you'd end up with if you needed a quick meal after taking grandma to visit with someone at the hospital down the road--and you need to feed grandma on the way home. It's probably all right, but not my choice for dinner. This seems like a friendly, local place. The staff seems to know a lot of the breakfast crowd, and there was a group of old coots having a grand old time at a back table when I was there...it's that kind of place.

Typically a good place to eat! Today my food was cold, water had a floaty in it, waitress never came back to my table after I received my food, water never got re-filled... Probably just an off day!
